That happens to me, too! I never liked touchpads, anyway, but when I
bought my new laptop that's all you could get. It's a Vaio with an Alps
touchpad. Sometimes the mouse jumps to a random area. At first I assumed
I was touching the touchpad, but it turns out I don't touch the touchpad
when it happens. I wonder if it's just a Linux thing with the Alps. BTW,
my alps touchpad doesn't scroll under edgy, but scrolls fine under
dapper - same xorg.conf.
